Time for a holiday

I'm taking my mid-season break for a couple of weeks. I managed to stay to hear Kevin Pietersen's excellent hundred against Yorkshire, happily he seems to be just fine with the Ashes approaching. I'll also miss the beginning of the Twenty20 tournament, a tournament that represents our only chance of silverware this season. We might have a team chock full of old boys, but we have a much better balanced side than we have in previous years so we could spring a surprise. I hope we give a good account of ourselves in my absence!

Please stay away Josh, things have improved on the batting, bowling & captaincy front already!

Haha! Thanks Tim. I have a hunch that it might've been more down to KP's presence than my absence, but good to see Keedy in the wickets too!

I'd put the improved performance down to the players myself and Keedy in the wickets could be good news further down the line. A full four days might have been interesting.

The Somerset win was bad news. With hindsight should we have looked at the final batting point? Well easy to say now but if we had got four wickets on Sunday evening...apparently Tremlett bowled well again, but a few more wickets would prove that!

You are missing Wimbledon as well...dont keep in touch too closely - enjoy the vista and the refreshments.

Fortunately there's a tv where I can watch Wimbledon. Somerset win was indeed bad but I've always had the feeling they're too good a side to go so long without a win - but then so are we in theory! Tremlett's lack of wickets is a concern, no matter how well he's bowling!

reality check folks: 198 all out, no batting points against Notts. Another loss ad we are going down.

Josh, I assume by the downturn in the team's fortunes that you are back from holiday!
